Psalms 119:65

"The earth is full of your loving kindness, LORD. Teach me your statutes. TETH"

Key Reflection

The psalmist speaks to God, expressing gratitude for His abundant and widespread grace ("the earth is full of your loving kindness"). This acknowledgment reflects a recognition that God's mercy extends beyond the physical world, encompassing all creation. By requesting instruction in God’s statutes, the psalmist seeks to understand and live by these divine laws more fully, indicating a deep desire for personal holiness and obedience within this context of God’s pervasive care.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Thou hast dealt well with thy servant -This begins a new division of the psalm, indicated by the Hebrew letterTeth(תt), corresponding to our “t.” The use of this letter, however, does nothing to mark the sense. The literal meaning of the phrase here is, “Good hast thou done with thy servant;” and the idea is, that God had been good, and had done good to him. In the review of his own life he sees good, and good alone. Even in afflictions and trials this is all that he sees. According unto thy word -According to thy promises; or, according to the principles of thy word. That is, the whole effect of the revealed truth of God upon him had been good.
