Psalms 119:33

"I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free. HE"

Key Reflection

This verse speaks of a believer's joyful obedience to God's commands, driven by the freedom found in Christ. The heart set free implies liberation from sin and bondage, enabling one to wholeheartedly follow God’s will with enthusiasm and zeal.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes -This begins a new division of the psalm, indicated by the letterHe(הh, or “h”). The word rendered “teach” means properly to throw, to cast, to hurl; and then, to teach - as if truth were thrown and scattered abroad. The sentiment is the same as inPsalms 119:12. And I shall keep it unto the end -Always. To the end of life. His keeping it depended on grace given to him continually to dispose and enable him to do it.
