Jeremiah 50:40
"Therefore the wild animals of the desert with the wolves will dwell there. The ostriches will dwell therein. It will be inhabited no more forever, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation."
Key Reflection
The land of Babylon, once a thriving center of civilization and power, is prophesied to become desolate, no longer fit for human habitation. This stark vision was meant to convey the severity of God's judgment against Babylon, illustrating that even the animals would eventually abandon the place, leaving behind only ruins where once great cities stood.
