Matthew 8:23

"But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”"

Key Reflection

Jesus's command here emphasizes prioritizing the spiritual journey over personal familial duties, suggesting that true discipleship requires fully committing to following Christ even when it conflicts with immediate family obligations. This statement also foreshadows the importance of Jesus's own resurrection and how his followers must look forward to eternal life rather than be preoccupied with death.
