Matthew 12:42

"The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here."

Key Reflection

This passage highlights that even those who lived centuries before Jesus, like the inhabitants of Nineveh who repented upon Jonah's preaching, will judge a generation that had the privilege of seeing and hearing Jesus. The implication is that true repentance brings greater accountability, emphasizing the importance of responding to divine revelation with faith and action.
