Mark 11:22

"Peter, remembering, said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”"

Key Reflection

Peter's observation highlights the power of faith and Jesus' authority over nature. It foreshadows the principle that Jesus will teach later—that believing in prayer can lead to miraculous results, as demonstrated by the fig tree's withering.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Verse 22. Have faith in God. Literally, "Have the faith of God." This may mean, Have strong faith. or have confidence in God; a strong belief that he is able to accomplish things that appear most difficult with infinite ease, as the fig-tree was made to wither away by a word. {2} "Have faith in God" or, "Have the faith of God" __________________________________________________________________
