Ezekiel 1:17

"When they went, they went in their four directions. They didn’t turn when they went."

Key Reflection

In Ezekiel 1:17, the creatures and wheels moving in all four directions without turning symbolize a relentless and unswerving divine presence that does not deviate from its course, even as it moves to reveal God's majesty and authority. This imagery underscores the idea that despite the multiplicity of directions, there is a unified and unwavering movement toward a greater spiritual truth.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Upon their four sides -i. e. straight in the direction toward which their faces looked. Since the four quarters express all directions, the construction of the living creatures was such that they could move in each direction alike.
