Deuteronomy 3:3

"The LORD said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, with all his people and his land, into your hand. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”"

Key Reflection

The Lord reassures Moses and his people that they should not fear King Og of Bashan, as He has already delivered him into their hands, just as they conquered Sihon king of the Amorites. This assurance was crucial for the Israelites, as it reinforced their belief in God's power to protect them and fulfill His promises, despite facing formidable opponents like Og, who was known for his great size and strength (Deuteronomy 3:11). The original audience would have understood this as a demonstration of divine support and a reminder that their military success was due to the Lord’s intervention, not just their own efforts.
