Acts 7:21

"At that time Moses was born, and was exceedingly handsome to God. He was nourished three months in his father’s house."

Key Reflection

In the first-century Jewish context, when Luke wrote about Moses being "exceedingly handsome to God," he was highlighting Moses' exceptional piety and favor from a young age—a detail that would resonate deeply with his audience, who understood divine favor as a significant blessing. The verse also notes that Moses was nourished in his father's house for three months before being hidden away, indicating the family’s efforts to protect him from Pharaoh’s decree, which would have been seen as a heroic and faithful act.
