Acts 27:32

"Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, “Unless these stay in the ship, you can’t be saved.”"

Key Reflection

This statement underscores the critical role that believers play in the broader mission and safety of the community. Paul's assertion highlights that the presence and faithful obedience of dedicated followers are essential for the group's salvation, not just physically but spiritually as well.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Verse 32. Cut off the ropes, etc. It is evident that the mariners had not yet got on board the boat. They had let it down into the sea, Ac 27:30, and were about to go on board. By thus cutting the ropes which fastened the boat to the ship, and letting it go, they removed all possibility of their fleeing from the ship, and compelled them to remain on board. __________________________________________________________________
