Psalms 90:15

"Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days."

Key Reflection

Psalms 90:15 speaks to a deep longing for God's presence and provision in daily life. The psalmist prays that God might satisfy them with His lovingkindness each morning, so that they could rejoice and be glad throughout their days. This plea reflects the ancient understanding of mornings as a new beginning, a time when one could seek fresh mercy and favor from God to carry out the day's challenges.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us -Let the one correspond with the other. Let our occasions of joy be measured by the sorrows which have come upon us. As our sufferings have been great, so let our joys and triumphs be. And the years wherein we have seen evil -Affliction and sorrow. They have been continued through many wearisome years; so let the years of peace and joy be many also.
