Psalms 146:6

"Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD, his God,"

Key Reflection

This verse celebrates the blessedness of those who trust in the Lord as their steadfast protector, drawing on the historical and covenantal relationship between Israel and Yahweh, which provides a foundation of hope and security. It highlights the continuity of God’s faithfulness to His people, reflecting both past deliverances and future promises.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Which made heaven and earth ... -Who is the true God, the Creator of all things. Happy is he who can address the God who called all this wondrous universe into being, and who sustains all by his power, as his God. Which keepeth truth for ever -Who is always true to his promises. In this verse there are two reasons given why the lot of the people of God would be a happy one: (1) That Yahweh is the true God, the Creator of all things, and, therefore, able to protect and provide for them. (2) That he is faithful, and may always be relied on.
