Psalms 107:42

"Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, and increases their families like a flock."

Key Reflection

This verse speaks of divine deliverance and provision, where God not only rescues the poor from suffering but also blesses them with abundant offspring, likening their prosperity to a thriving flock. This imagery emphasizes both physical and spiritual renewal and growth under God's care.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

The righteous shall see it, and rejoice -Shall see all these changes; shall see in their own case the proofs of the divine favor. They shall thus have occasion for praise. And all iniquity shall stop her mouth -The wicked shall be silenced; they shall be dumb. The righteous shall find, in these varied scenes, occasion for praise and joy; the wicked shall be able to find no occasion for complaining or murmuring.
