Because of thine indignation and thy wrath -Hebrew, “From the face of thine indignation,” etc. That is - he regarded all his sufferings as proof of the indignation and wrath of God against him. SeePsalms 90:7-9. For thou hast lifted me up -In former times. Thou hadst given me prosperity; thou hadst given me an elevated and honorable place among men.
