In these verses, God's anger is depicted as a divine obstacle sent to prevent Balaam from fulfilling his mission of cursing Israel. The angel acting on God’s behalf stands in opposition to Balaam, illustrating how spiritual adversaries can be divinely appointed to challenge and potentially lead individuals to repentance or correction.
