Key Reflection

Jesus' command to his disciples not to fear and to return to Galilee where he would meet them again symbolizes both reassurance and a call to renewed faith and obedience. It points forward to the fulfillment of all that Jesus had taught and promised, emphasizing the importance of gathering together in anticipation of his resurrection appearance.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Verse 11. When they were going. Or, when they had gone from the tomb. Some of the watch. Some of the guard that had been set around the tomb to keep it safe. Probably the leaders, or officers, came to give a true account of what had happened. Shewed unto the Chief Priests. To Annas and Caiaphas. __________________________________________________________________
