Luke 24:42

"While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”"

Key Reflection

In this passage, Jesus' question about food serves as a poignant reminder of the material needs that can overshadow spiritual ones, even for disciples who had just witnessed the resurrection. It underscores the dual reality of their joy and disbelief, highlighting the ongoing need for physical sustenance in the midst of their transformed faith.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Verse 42. Honey-comb. Honey abounded in Palestine, and was a very common article of food. Bees lived in caves of the rocks, in the hollows of trees, and were also kept as with us. The disciples gave, probably, just what was their own common fare, and what was ready at the time. __________________________________________________________________
