Leviticus 21:7

"They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God, for they offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the bread of their God. Therefore they shall be holy."

Key Reflection

The Levites were instructed to maintain a level of sanctity that reflected the divine holiness, as they were responsible for offering the sacrifices and managing the bread from God's table in the temple. By keeping their lives separate from common impurities, they ensured the offerings remained pure and worthy of the Lord, thereby preserving His sacred name from profanation.
