Leviticus 19:24

"“‘When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as forbidden. For three years it shall be forbidden to you. It shall not be eaten."

Key Reflection

The Israelites were instructed that any fruit from newly planted trees was to remain unharvested for the first three years, as a form of tithing and thanksgiving to God for the land's bounty. This practice underscored their dependence on divine provision and allowed the trees time to establish themselves before bearing fruit, ensuring long-term productivity for the community.
