Key Reflection

Joshua 6:18 describes the destruction of Jericho according to divine command. For the Israelites, this act was a demonstration of God's sovereignty and his directive for total obedience in conquest. The sparing of Rahab and her household highlighted the distinction between those who worshiped the true God versus those who clung to idolatry; it also foreshadowed how even those on the margins could find grace and inclusion within the community of faith, as Rahab later became a ancestress of King David.
