Jeremiah 46:11
"For that day is of the Lord, GOD of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge himself of his adversaries. The sword will devour and be satiated, and will drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, GOD of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates."
Key Reflection
This verse foretells a day when the Lord will exact vengeance upon his enemies through a military conquest, symbolized by the sword that consumes and is satisfied with their blood. It highlights God's sovereign authority to execute judgment and his ultimate purpose of bringing about a sacrifice, likely referring to the defeat and destruction of adversaries in the north, such as Egypt, near the Euphrates River.
