Isaiah 45:22

"Declare and present it. Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has shown this from ancient time? Who has declared it of old? Haven’t I, the LORD? There is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior. There is no one besides me."

Key Reflection

This passage challenges listeners to acknowledge the divine origin of prophetic revelation, emphasizing that only the LORD, as the just God and Savior, has declared these truths since ancient times, leaving no room for alternative deities or sources of truth. It underscores the uniqueness and authority of God's word in establishing a covenant relationship with His people.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Look unto me, and be ye saved -This is said in view of the declaration made in the previous verse, that he is a just God and a Saviour. It is because he sustains this character that all are invited to look to him; and the doctrine is, that the fact that God is at the same time just and yet a Saviour, or can save consistently with his justice, is an argument why they should took to him, and confide in him.
