Key Reflection

In Ezekiel 13:13, the prophet addresses false prophets who prophesy falsely in Jerusalem during a time when the city is under threat and facing judgment. The imagery of a wall that has fallen and the question about where the plaster is suggests that these false prophets had merely adorned or superficially addressed the issues without actually providing real spiritual protection or guidance to the people, much like putting on a facade of beauty over crumbling infrastructure. When calamity comes, their pretense will be exposed as hollow, leaving only the reality of their failure to protect.
