Deuteronomy 31:15
"The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.” Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting."
Key Reflection
Moses is nearing the end of his life and God instructs him to call Joshua, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership. This moment occurs in the Tent of Meeting, a sacred space where the presence of God was particularly strong, symbolizing the continuity of divine guidance despite Moses' impending death. The original audience would have understood this as part of God's plan for Israel’s future, emphasizing that leadership and guidance would persist even after Moses is no longer physically present.
