In first-century Israel, where social and economic hierarchies were rigidly defined, a godless person's words could lead to the ruin of their neighbor through slander, defamation, or false accusations. Conversely, the righteous, guided by knowledge and wisdom, would be preserved and protected in such an environment, as they used their understanding to navigate conflicts wisely and avoid harm.
