In Numbers 2:26, the Israelites are organized into camps according to their tribes, each with a designated standard and leader. The north side of the camp is assigned to the tribe of Dan, led by Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. This organizational structure would have provided clarity and order for the people, facilitating efficient movement and coordination during their journey through the wilderness, as well as maintaining tribal identity and leadership roles within the larger community.
