Nehemiah 9:29

"But after they had rest, they did evil again before you; therefore you left them in the hands of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them; yet when they returned and cried to you, you heard from heaven; and many times you delivered them according to your mercies,"

Key Reflection

Nehemiah 9:29 describes a recurring cycle of disobedience and divine judgment in Israel's history. After experiencing rest and restoration, the people inevitably returned to their evil ways, leading God to allow them to fall into the hands of their enemies, as punishment for their sin. However, even in these difficult times, when the people cried out in repentance, God heard from heaven and repeatedly delivered them, demonstrating His steadfast mercy and faithfulness despite their repeated failures.
