Matthew 16:2

"The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven."

Key Reflection

This request for a sign from heaven by the Pharisees and Sadducees reflects their spiritual hardness; they seek miraculous proof over recognizing Jesus' authority, despite His numerous miracles already witnessed. This test foreshadows the broader theme of discernment in faith, highlighting the contrast between genuine belief and skepticism even among those who should know better.
