Judges 3:9

"Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan Rishathaim eight years."

Key Reflection

This verse illustrates God's judgment on Israel when they strayed from His commandments, leading to their subjugation under the oppressive rule of Cushan Rishathaim. It serves as a reminder that divine anger, while严厉,也蕴含着纠正与管教的意味,促使人们回转归向神。

Othniel was already distinguished in Joshua’s lifetime as a brave and successful leader. SeeJoshua 15:16-17.
