Joshua 15:14
"He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (also called Hebron)."
Key Reflection
Caleb received a portion in the land of Judah, specifically Kiriath Arba, renamed Hebron, as per God's command given to Joshua. This act affirmed Caleb’s faith and loyalty, as he had previously refused to fear the giants of Canaan (Joshua 14:9-15), aligning with divine promises made earlier to Joshua himself (Joshua 1:6). The renaming of Kiriath Arba to Hebron symbolized a new era under God’s authority, reflecting the transition from the leadership of Moses and Joshua to the establishment of the Promised Land.
