Key Reflection

When the disciples found the tomb empty and saw the linen cloths lying there, they did not fully grasp the significance of Jesus' resurrection as foretold in Scripture. This verse highlights their initial lack of understanding, rooted in their limited knowledge of Old Testament prophecies like Psalm 16:8-11, which speaks of God's faithful one remaining with the Lord in the grave and seeing the light of life’s day. For them, the idea that Jesus had to rise from the dead was still a foreign concept, overshadowed by their grief and confusion.
