Key Reflection

In Jeremiah 36:10, we find a description of a significant religious event taking place in ancient Judea. The verse tells us that during Jehoiakim's reign, likely as part of a broader series of fasts and proclamations, the people of Jerusalem and those from the surrounding cities gathered for a public fast before the Lord in the ninth month of the year (which typically corresponds to Tishri, around September-October). This fast was not just an individual or small group observance but involved the entire populace, indicating its importance as a communal act of worship and penitence.
