Jeremiah 11:9

"Yet they didn’t obey, nor turn their ear, but everyone walked in the stubbornness of their evil heart. Therefore I brought on them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they didn’t do them.’”"

Key Reflection

This verse illustrates the persistent rebellion and disobedience of the Israelites, highlighting their refusal to listen or comply with God’s commands despite His repeated attempts to guide them. As a consequence, God enforced the covenantal conditions upon them, demonstrating the dire consequences of unyielding sinfulness and disloyalty.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes
