Jeremiah 1:7

"But the LORD said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you."

Key Reflection

This passage emphasizes divine calling and obedience over personal limitations. It underscores that despite Jeremiah's youth, he was chosen by God for a significant mission, emphasizing the importance of trusting and obeying God’s directives regardless of one’s qualifications or reservations.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Jeremiah suggested two difficulties, the first inexperience, the second timidity. God now removes the first of these. Inexperience is no obstacle where the duty is simple obedience His timidity is removed by the promise given him in the next verse.
