Isaiah 25:10

"It shall be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is the LORD! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!”"

Key Reflection

This verse celebrates the revelation of God as the one who saves his people, whom they have long awaited. It expresses both the relief and joy of finally seeing their expectations fulfilled through divine deliverance.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

For in this mountain -In mount Zion. Shall the land of the Lord rest - “The hand” in the Scriptures is often used as the symbol of protection and defense. By the expression that the hand of Yahweh should REST on mount Zion, is meant probably that be would be its defender; his protection would not be withdrawn, but would be permanent there. For an illustration of the phrase, see a similar use of the word hand as denoting protection, inEzra 7:6,Ezra 7:28;Ezra 8:18,Ezra 8:22,Ezra 8:31;Nehemiah 2:8.
