Isaiah 14:4

"It will happen in the day that the LORD will give you rest from your sorrow, from your trouble, and from the hard service in which you were made to serve,"

Key Reflection

In Isaiah 14:4, God promises rest and relief for His people from their sorrows, troubles, and harsh labors. This promise was particularly significant for the exiled Israelites in Assyria and Babylon, who endured heavy taxation and servitude. The original audience would have understood this as a hopeful message of deliverance, foretelling both the end of their current hardships and the restoration to their homeland under God’s sovereignty.
