Hebrews 3:2

"Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus,"

Key Reflection

This verse highlights Jesus' dual role as both an apostle and high priest, emphasizing his unique position as mediator between God and humanity. By considering him in this way, believers are encouraged to follow his example and trust in his intercessory work on their behalf.

From the Scholars: Barnes' Notes

Verse 2. Who was faithful. See Barnes "Heb 2:17". He performed with fidelity all the functions entrusted to him. To him that appointed him. Marg. Made. The word made, however, is used in the sense of constituted or appointed. The meaning is, that he was faithful to God. Perhaps Paul urges on them the necessity of considering his fidelity in order to keep them from the danger of apostasy. A leading object of this epistle was to preserve those whom he addressed from apostatizing from God, amidst the temptations and trials to which they were exposed.
