In Exodus 33:15, God assures Moses that His presence will accompany Israel on their journey, offering both protection and guidance. This promise of divine presence contrasts with the initial request where Moses asks to see God's face directly—a request which is ultimately too much for any human to bear, as God explains, "You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live" (Exodus 33:20). Thus, while Moses seeks direct revelation, God provides a relational presence that offers rest and security in a more tangible way.
