In Esther 5:5, Esther strategically invites King Xerxes and Haman to a private banquet, setting up an opportunity to influence the king's perspective on her and indirectly challenge Haman’s growing power. This request was culturally significant; in Persian court etiquette, such an invitation was a form of leverage, giving Esther the chance to present her case more privately than in a public audience, where her plea might be dismissed or misunderstood.
