Deuteronomy 30:6

"The LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you will possess it. He will do you good, and increase your numbers more than your fathers."

Key Reflection

In Deuteronomy 30:6, God reassures the Israelites that after their long journey and potential hardships, they will return to and take possession of the Promised Land, which had been promised to their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This promise of restoration was not based on any inherent righteousness or merit of the people but on God’s sovereign choice and faithfulness, as He had sworn to their forefathers centuries earlier. For the original audience, this verse encapsulated a hope for national revival and fulfillment of ancient divine covenants despite the current exile and suffering they faced.
