Deuteronomy 18:10

"When you have come into the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of those nations."

Key Reflection

This verse warns the Israelites against adopting the pagan religious practices and rituals of the Canaanite nations they were soon to conquer. By avoiding such abominations, they were to maintain their distinctiveness and allegiance to the LORD's covenant and worship.
