Deuteronomy 1:39
"Moreover your little ones, whom you said would be captured or killed, your children, who today have no knowledge of good or evil, shall go in there. I will give it to them, and they shall possess it."
Key Reflection
In Deuteronomy 1:39, Moses addresses the Israelites who are about to enter Canaan after wandering in the wilderness for forty years. He reassures them that their children, born during this long journey and thus unfamiliar with the hardships of the past, will inherit the Promised Land. This promise would have been particularly meaningful to the original audience, as it provided hope and continuity, assuring them that despite the trials they had endured, future generations would enjoy the blessings of the land promised by God.
